| (2.2002) Ray
Brown was the most recorded
bassist in the history of jazz. He spent
many years with Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald
and Oscar Peterson, amongst many others.Ray
passed away summer of 2002. I was playing
a concert in Chicago and Ray was at Joe
Segal's Jazz Showcase. Donald Meade, a
mutual friend of ours, invited me to come
join he and Ray after his gig. Unfortunately,
I could not make it...Ray passed away the
next week in Indianapolis. This photo taken

and Karriem Riggins at Yoshi's Jazz Club
in Oakland, CA. ©2005
