Hi and welcome! Here's the opportunity to share with us in the final completion of the long awaited Jazz Praise IV with Jim Martinez and Friends. Three years in the works and the project has never been completed due to various glitches and a hard drive crash with partial recovery (we have learned our lesson!) We were able to salvage a few of the key guest appearances. We are will be attempting to save these previously recorded guest artists, as well as recording brand new tracks.

Although this project is not associated with Artist Share, a process which allows artists to raise the finances needed and in turn share the experience of the creation with the audience, the concept is the same. This is set up by Invisible Touch Music and you can participate at whatever level suits you (click HERE). For example, Jazz Praise II (Praise Him With Jazz) was completed at the cost of $22,000. For JPIV, we've already invested over $6,000 but because of the data loss we are nearly starting over from scratch. But to borrow and slightly alter a quote from the Six Million Dollor Man TV show, "we can make it better than before".

As a participant in Jazz Praise IV, you will be able to see the inner workings of the project through my personal insights into the arranging process, the recordings themselves in the studio through video clips (on DVD), and photos from the session (DVD and web links). You will also receive credit and/or a photo in the CD liner notes (qualifying catagories only), as well as other perks, like a trip to this recording session here in Sacramento.

Through this process, we retain complete artistic and financial control of the work (a budget sheet is available upon request to donors). We are NOT non-profit status so we are unable to offer you a write off in that department. However, we ARE offering you a unique involvement with this recording. If you are not able to financially participate, we would still appreciate your prayers for a smooth and quick completion.

The musicians that are scheduled for the live session will be vocalist Freddy Cole, dummer Clayton Cameron (12 years with Tony Bennett), myself and bassist Hans Halt from Reno, NV. Guests that previously recorded included guitarists Bucky Pizzarelli and John Stowell, saxophonist Lance Bryant (musical director of the Lionel Hampton New York Big Band), vocalist Dee Daniels and Evelyn White and drummer Daryl VanDruff. These artists will not be present during the session. ***Jim Martinez***

SPECIAL GUEST FREDDY COLE doesn't apologize for sounding like his brother, Nat "King" Cole. There are certain unmistakable similarities. He plays piano and sings and performs live with guitar and upright bass, just like Nat. He is known internationally. Yet his voice is raspier, smokier, jazzier even. He has emerged from the awesome shadow cast by his elder brother.

In the Chicago home of his youth, visitors included Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Lionel Hampton.

Cole's career continues to ascend as he has moved into the front ranks of America's homegrown art form with a style and musical sophistication all his own.
